Mani-Monday - Sweet Candy Cane

Hey everyone, I'm back with Mani-Monday! This is my third post on Christmas Nail-arts. I had previously done a post on called: "Mani-Monday - Winder Wonderland" and "Mani-Monday - Christmas Tree Lightings" If you had missed out on both, you can click on the link to read on how to create both looks!

Back to today's nail art. It's called 'Sweet Candy Cane'. As the name suggested, this nail-art was inspired by my favourite, Peppermint, Candy Cane. This is a all-time favourite Christmas Nail-Art, being recreated by many people out there. It's the simplest nail-art I've done yet and takes not more than 15 minutes to complete. Click on the jump to find out how to create this look for yourself!

First up, the stuffs I used in this Nail-Art! (You may wish to use similar colours or nail polishes of different brands, the nail polishes and tools I use here are all I already owned.)

Here is the list of nail polishes and tools I've used in this tutorial. I will also list in details the codes and etc. (Do note that some products were purchased some time ago or from overseas so you might not be able to get the exact same as I used)
  1. Lovely ME:EX 02 Base Coat - The Face Shop
  2. Blood Red Nail Polish (RD301) - The Face Shop
  3. Bright Green Nail Polish (OC04) - Tony Moly
  4. White Nail Polish (WH002) - Nature Republic
  5. Super Fast Drying Top Coat - Posh
  6. White Nail Art Pen - KONAD
  7. Paint Brush (Super Fine) - Art Friend [Not in picture]
Alright, let's begin! First step, apply Base Coat.

Second step, apply any white nail polish to all your nails as the base colour. In my case I apply evenly 2 coats of my Nature Republic WH002 Polish. It doesn't have to be perfect as you will be drawing stripes on it afterwards.

Third Step, using my paint brush from Art Friend, dip it into any red nail polish and draw in stripes slanting to a 45 degree angle. An alternative is to use a tooth-pick. Dip your tooth-pick into the nail polish and you may begin drawing!

Completed with red stripes! Next step...

Fourth step, using my paint brush from Art Friend, dip it into any green nail polish and draw in stripes slanting to a 45 degree angle under or over the red stripes, depending on your own preference.

Fifth Step, wait for about one minute for the nail polish to dry before applying your top coat. This is to prevent your nail polish from smudging.

And you're done! Like I've mentioned, this is a super easy and fast nail-art for any of your Christmas event. This is definitely go-to nail-art if I am running out of time but yet still wants a little special on my nails for Christmas instead of just paint one colour, it adds more fun to my look!

If you had re-created the above, Sweet Candy Cane Nail-Art, do remember to tweet me a photo of it with the hash-tag of #SaigeandAcire and/ or #ChristmasCountdown! I would love to see all your lovely Sweet Candy Cane Nails! If not, tweet me any ways  I would love to talk to all of you on my twitter! Also, if you have any nail-art that you would like me to re-create, send me a photo or leave a comment below, I definitely would like to hear from you!

Next Mani-Monday will be Christmas Eve already! I'm having a get together session with my family at my house on Christmas Eve, what about you guys? What are your plans on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve? Hope all of you guys have a great week!
